CE Marking: The Process [2016 Webinar Recording] (Module)

Video Length: 40 minutes

New to the CE Marking for Europe? Join our Webinar.

The CE Marking requirement is a common need to access the European Economic Area (EEA) and exemption for Military equipment has become limited. What does this mean for product developers? DoD compliance does not directly translate into CE compliance. Unless properly prepared, significant impacts can occur in product development cycles.

As products see service in rapidly forming alliances and coalitions, products must meet international compliance requirements and CE Marking is seeing the majority of these requirements. Designers, developers and program managers need to understand the implications to ensure that the products are developed without major design changes for CE Marking.

This webinar will provide insight on the various directives and product standards that apply, how these requirements are evaluated and the business implications to maintain the compliance. In this webinar you will learn about:

  • Identifying applicable directives
  • Verifying product specific requirements
  • Determining necessity for Notified Body involvement
  • Product testing and evaluation
  • Technical file preparation
  • CE marking and product life implications

Who Should Attend

  • Program managers responsible for implementing CE Marking
  • DoD product development professionals faced with adding CE Marking
  • Product designers and engineering managers that need to understand the EMC, Safety and RoHS compliance requirements for CE Marking;
  • Compliance engineers responsible for technical details supporting the product design;
  • Laboratory managers and test personnel responsible for developing the test programs;

The Presenter: Steven G. Ferguson is Executive V.P. at Washington Laboratories, Ltd (WLL) and has been working in the compliance test arena for over 35 years at test laboratories and manufacturing companies designing products, developing procedures and performing tests and advising developers on routes and techniques for attaining product compliance.
